2013 RACE

Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP) honours its corporate social responsibilities by enthusiastically promoting healthy and sustainable living. The Company also actively encourages reading and holistic development as well as caring for society's underprivileged. SHKP has been an enthusiastic contributor in community efforts and encourages its staff to develop a healthy lifestyle. SHKP management personnel also participate in these initiatives, working together with staff, business partners and customers to give back to the community. In addition, the Company continues to develop premium properties in keeping with its "Building Homes with Heart" philosophy.


"SHKP Vertical Run - Race to Hong Kong ICC" (previously called "Race to ICC-100 - SHKP Vertical Run for the Chest") became an international sporting event as part of the Vertical World Circuit, welcoming runners to Hong Kong as competitors for the final event of the world championships. There are elite, individual and relay races for local and international runners to race up the 2,120 stairs to reach the sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck on the 100th floor of the ICC. Also, a new Fun Climb event has been added for people who want to try a more relaxed version of stair climbing.


This event started a local craze for stair-climbing and has attracted over 1,000 enthusiasts from more than 30 countries and regions, including Hong Kong Amputee Sport Association runners and a young, visually-impaired female runner. The overall number of participants has more than trebled from 2012, a testament to the growing popularity of stair-climbing among the people of Hong Kong. The Fun Climb, a new addition to the race, attracted over 200 entrants and has helped promote the fun of stair-climbing. SHKP Chairman and Managing Director Thomas Kwok, SHKP Chairman and Managing Director and Event Organizing Committee Chairman, Raymond Kwok along with representatives from the management team, including SHKP Deputy Managing Director, Victor Lui, SHKP Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, Patrick Chan were among the runners in support of this charity sporting event.
